Welcome to our office! I would like to give you an idea as to what you can expect to occur during your first visit. Our goal during your initial appointment is to gather information about you. This involves filling out some paperwork, having a consultation with the doctor, followed by an examination so we can properly diagnose the problem. You can expect your first visit to last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call. We’re happy to hear from you!
Call To Schedule An Appointment
The first thing that needs to be done is to call us to schedule an appointment. Call us at 412-595-7332 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday). Our new patient examinations are by appointment only. When you call, one of our team members will gather some basic information, and then assist you in scheduling an appointment.
New Patient Forms
The second thing that needs to be done is to fill out your new patient application forms. We ask that you fill all forms out to completion (including signing and dating each form) BEFORE your appointment. The reason why we want this done before you come to the office is when you come in, all of your paperwork will be complete and we can get to work right away to helping you feel better. Additionally most patients find being able to complete the paperwork ahead of time and in the comfort of their own home is easier.
What To Wear
Our Doctor will be doing a specialized neurological examination. As such, we require all patients to wear a t-shirt & shorts for their examination. You can either come to the office in your gym clothes, or you can wear your regular clothes and we will provide a private room for you to change.
Review of Medical History & Intake Paperwork
The doctor will review your medical history and intake paperwork prior to doing the examination. It is very important that you fill everything out to completion so he can get a clear, full and accurate understanding of your problem(s). We encourage everyone to be as detailed as possible.
Consultation & Examination
You will then have a consultation and examination with the Doctor. The first thing we do is take your vitals. After this the Doctor meets with you and you get to tell him your story, where it hurts, what happened, etc.. The Doctor will then do a neurological examination. When he is done, he may recommend additional testing (such as x-ray, MRI or lab testing – all based on what he sees during the exam).
Once he feels it is safe to start treatment, we will get going with your care plan. Our goal is to help you feel better as quickly as possible.
